The Future of Food – A Documentary on Genetically Engineered Foods Used in HFCS

The Future of Food, a documentary available for free on Hulu (in the US only), exposes the dangers of genetically engineered foods like corn and soybeans.

According to Wikipedia:

The Future of Food is a 2004 American documentary film which makes an in-depth investigation into unlabelled, patented, genetically engineered foods that have quietly made their way onto grocery stores in the United States for the past decade.

The documentary goes over how genetically engineered corn, which is used in the production of high fructose syrup (HFCS), is created and how dangerous it is for human consumption. Genetic engineering, according to the documentary, involves slicing specific genes from herbicide-resistant and pesticidal bacteria and embedding these genes into corn and other farm produce. Such produce then becomes resistant to herbicides and insects, which allows for cheap production of syrups derived from corn.
